May 17-23 is National Dog Bite Prevention Week because any dog can bite. The AVMA has put together the infographic below to show that dog bites are a serious problem.

In addition to these statistics, the Insurance Information Institute reported that dog bites and other dog-related injuries accounted for more than a third of homeowners’ liability insurance claims in the US in 2014, with 16,550 claims being paid out for a total of over $530 million.
